UEFA is preparing to unify the video referee system in the Champions League.

The European Football Association will hold a special meeting next summer to discuss the operation of the video review system with representatives from the most prestigious club leagues on the continent. Zamin.uz reported this.
The main goal of this event is to determine how to effectively and correctly use this modern technology in all major tournaments. According to Sky Sports, UEFA aims to implement a single and simplified approach across Europe during the meeting.
This will ensure that video referees only correct clear and obvious errors, further strengthening fairness on the football pitch. The event will be led by Roberto Rosetti, head of UEFA's refereeing department, and will take place shortly after the recently concluded World Cup.
Representatives from the strongest leagues, including the English Premier League, Spanish La Liga, Italian Serie A, German Bundesliga, and French Ligue 1, are expected to attend the meeting. In a statement given last month, Rosetti emphasized that too much attention should not be paid to very small and unclear details in football, meaning microscopic interference should be avoided.
According to him, when applied correctly, video review becomes an integral part of football, but currently its operating procedure is causing controversy among many fans. The main goal of the meeting is to make the system work more efficiently and transparently.
Through this, it is planned to ensure fairness in football and significantly reduce the number of disputes that lead to questioning match results or decisive situations. All parties will jointly adopt modern solutions to make future games more high-quality and entertaining.
