Ilya Malinin won the third gold medal at the World Championship

The young and talented figure skater Ilya Malinin once again demonstrated his skill and won the gold medal for the third time at the World Championship. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This achievement is especially significant as it was earned just one month after his unsuccessful participation in the Winter Olympic Games. At the prestigious competition held in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, Malinin outperformed all his rivals and won with complete dominance.
According to the final results, he left his main Japanese rival Yuma Kagiyama behind by 22.73 points. The bronze medal was won by another Japanese representative, Shun Sato.
Unable to hide his excitement after the victory, Malinin said: “That's it, it's done. To be honest, I didn't think I could perform the free program perfectly, but the result turned out even better than I expected.” According to the results of the two programs, he scored a total of 329.40 points.
Of course, this score did not reach his record of 238.24 points in the free program recorded at the Grand Prix Final in December. In that competition, he managed to perform seven quadruple jumps, including the famous quadruple axel.
This time, five quadruple jumps were enough for the championship. Interestingly, in February of this year, at the Olympics held in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, Malinin unexpectedly remained without a medal.
After leading in the short program, the athlete fell twice in the free program and ultimately took eighth place. The gold medal in that competition was won by Kazakhstan's Mikhail Shaidorov.
Ilya Malinin was born in 2004 in Virginia, USA, into the family of famous Uzbek figure skaters Tatyana Malinina and Roman Skornyakov. His sister Yelizaveta also practices this sport.
It is worth noting that Tatyana Malinina was the winner of the first Four Continents Championship held in 1999, the Grand Prix Final champion of the same year, and a ten-time Uzbekistan champion. Roman Skornyakov was a two-time national champion and represented Uzbekistan at two Olympic Games.
In conclusion, Malinin was able to draw the right conclusions from his defeats and returned to the top of the world in a short time. This once again proves what true champions are like.
