Aziza Zokirova achieved a major victory at the Asian Boxing Championship
The semi-final matches of the Asian Boxing Championship for adults, held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, have begun. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
On the first day of the competition, four boxers from Uzbekistan entered the ring. Their fights were interesting and full of struggle.
In the -70 kilogram weight category, Oysha Toirova faced Indian opponent Arundhati Choudhary in the semi-final. Oysha was unable to fully utilize her opportunities and lost to her opponent with a score of 1:4, finishing the championship with a bronze medal.
Our boxer in the -75 kilogram weight category, Aziza Zokirova, once again demonstrated her strength. She defeated the top-seeded Indian Lovlina Borgohain with a score of 5:0.
This victory was a great success for Zokirova. In the +80 kilogram weight category, Oltinoy Sotimboyeva stepped into the ring against Kazakhstan’s Dina Islambekova.
In the previous “Strandja” tournament semi-final, Oltinoy had defeated her opponent 3:2. However, this time she missed the opportunity and lost 0:5, finishing the championship with a bronze medal.
In the -65 kilogram weight category, Abdulloh Madaminov defeated Japanese Shion Nishiyama 5:0 and advanced to the final. Madaminov’s injury-free and clear victory shows that our athletes have started successfully.
