Participation of the Iranian national team in the World Cup has been officially confirmed

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has officially announced that the Iran national team's participation in the 2026 World Cup has been confirmed. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

He noted that the Iranian team has its place in this prestigious tournament and has fully retained its right to participate. The head of the International Football Federation stated that despite the complex geopolitical situation currently occurring in the world, sports and football must continue on their path.

Infantino expressed great hope that the situation in the region would stabilize before the start of the tournament. In his opinion, the Iran national team's participation in the World Cup is certain, and this decision remains in effect.

Additionally, Infantino emphasized that Iranian footballers should represent their country with dignity on the field. Pointing out that the main goal of sports is to unite, the leader specifically stressed that the greatest desire of the players is simply to play the game and that sports must stand above politics.
