Youth Taekwondo World Championships in Tashkent concluded with a historic victory

The 15th World Youth Taekwondo Championships (WT) in Tashkent concluded with high-level final bouts and a solemn closing ceremony. Zamin.uz reports.
This prestigious competition was attended by World Taekwondo President Chungwon Choi, Minister of Sports Adham Ikramov, First Deputy Chairman of the National Olympic Committee Otabek Umarov, and other high-ranking sports officials. One of the most brilliant results of the tournament was achieved by Mohidil O'ktamjonova, who competed in the 63 kg weight category.
The athlete confidently defeated all her opponents to secure the gold medal. This achievement became a historic event for Uzbek sports, as girls had not previously won a gold medal at the World Youth Taekwondo Championships (WT).
Mohidil O'ktamjonova made history as the first girl from our country to become a world champion in this discipline. Other representatives of the national team also performed honorably and showed high results.
Specifically, Asadbek Samandarov and Yosinbek Odilov won gold medals, while Ayubkhon Nabiyev and Alisher Pak earned silver awards. Shohjahon Kholmurodov secured a bronze medal.
As a result, the Uzbekistan youth team finished the competition with 3 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medal, recording one of the best performances in its history. For information, the next world championship is planned to take place in Lima in 2028.
