Mikel Arteta blames Arsenal defeat to Manchester City on poor finishing

In matchday 33 of the English Premier League, Arsenal suffered a surprising 1-2 home defeat against Manchester City. After the match, the head coach of the Londoners, Mikel Arteta, shared his detailed view on the performance and the result.
According to the manager, his team did not play poorly; on the contrary, many of the right decisions were made on the pitch. He emphasised that the opponents created very few dangerous situations, while Arsenal managed to generate the most realistic and sharpest chances to score. However, the main issue was the lack of clinical finishing. The team missed several clear opportunities, including a shot that hit the post, which became one of the decisive factors in the outcome.
Arteta attributed the result to bad luck. In his view, many aspects of the game should have worked in favour of Arsenal, but the result did not match expectations and the team dropped valuable points.
Despite this, Arteta stressed that the title race is far from over. He reminded everyone that Arsenal still hold a three-point lead, while Manchester City have a game in hand. For this reason, the fight for the championship is expected to remain fierce until the very end.
At the moment, Manchester City sit second with 67 points, while Arsenal lead the table with 70. The intrigue in the Premier League continues to intensify, with every match now carrying the weight of a final.
