Bayern Munich Denies Reports of Manuel Neuer Contract Extension

Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund has officially denied reports that the club has extended the current agreement with team captain Manuel Neuer until 2027. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In recent days, various reports have circulated in the German media claiming that the 40-year-old veteran goalkeeper had reached an agreement with the club's management regarding a new contract. It was also suggested that Neuer would share his position with young goalkeeper Jonas Urbig next season.
According to Goal.com, the club official emphasized that these rumors are baseless. During a press conference, Freund did not hide his surprise at the spread of such news.
According to him, no official negotiations regarding a contract extension have taken place between the club and the player at this time. Nevertheless, the sporting director noted that there is constant communication with Neuer regarding future plans and acknowledged the goalkeeper's invaluable role in the team's success.
The club management highly values Manuel's experience and stated that any decision will be made based on mutual respect. Manuel Neuer himself stated that he has not yet reached a final decision regarding his future.
Having returned to action after a serious injury, the experienced goalkeeper is currently proving his top form with reliable performances in the Champions League and the German Cup. Despite this, the Munich club's management is considering the possibility of the goalkeeper's retirement as a precautionary measure.
Consequently, club scouts are closely monitoring suitable candidates for backup, specifically watching the performances of goalkeepers like Daniel Heuer Fernandes. The parties are expected to meet again in the coming months to discuss the situation in detail.
