Uzbekistan national team’s leading player Jaloliddin Masharipov shared his feelings after an important match against the UAE national team. Masharipov emphasized that this game was the most challenging and pressure-filled match of his and his teammates' entire careers.
“To be honest, today’s match was one of the toughest and most responsible encounters of our lives. The pressure we felt before the game was extremely high because we had to achieve either a victory or a draw based on the outcome of this match. However, our mood was such that it seemed we only needed a victory. Each of us gave our all on the field, and as a result, we secured the necessary points and qualified for the World Cup. We are very happy that we made millions of fans in our country proud with this victory,” said Masharipov.
Jaloliddin also noted that there were many strong and individually skilled players in past national team rosters compared to current players. However, in his opinion, there was no team unity and harmony among players back then as there is now.
“I think the players who took the field in previous qualifying rounds might have been stronger than us in terms of individual performance. But they did not have the same team spirit as we do. With our current squad, we are like one family, and in every match, we try to support and help each other. It is precisely because of this strong team spirit that we achieved this historic victory,” emphasized Masharipov.
Jaloliddin Masharipov's words resonated with millions of fans and further highlighted the team's current success. Through this victory, the Uzbekistan national team earned the right to participate in the World Cup for the first time in its history.
