"Messi" Klose breaks record, becomes top scorer

Argentina national team captain Lionel Messi has become the all-time top scorer in World Cup history, Zamin.uz reported.
In the match against Austria in Dallas, Messi scored two goals, bringing his tournament tally to 18 and surpassing the legendary German striker Miroslav Klose’s record. This was reported by Goal.com.
Witnessing this historic moment from the stands was Messi’s lifelong partner, Antonela Roccuzzo, who shared her excitement on social media. She posted a photo with their sons Thiago, Mateo, and Ciro, expressing pride in her husband’s achievement.
All three boys wore Messi’s iconic number 10 jersey to support the team. The match began with an unexpected setback for Messi.
In the first minute, after a penalty was awarded, Messi’s shot went wide of the goal. This marked only the third time in his World Cup career that he failed to convert a penalty.
But the experienced striker did not lose composure. Near the end of the first half, Messi opened the scoring, and in the final minutes of the second half, he added a second goal to secure Argentina’s 2:0 victory.
It was this performance that allowed him to surpass Klose’s record. Overjoyed, Antonela Roccuzzo wrote on social media: “Watching you make history again and again is an honor. I love you so much.”
The win helped Argentina solidify their position as group leaders.
After the match, Messi emphasized in an interview that qualifying early from the group stage is crucial for the team. While the current champions are playing with confidence, Messi remains the team’s driving force.
