One jar of honey—can Egypt's other preparations be managed?

Egypt national team and Liverpool star Mohamed Salah suffered an injury ahead of the crucial match against Australia in the Round of 16 of the World Cup, Zamin.uz reports.
Following the team’s final group stage match against Iran, it became known that the footballer sustained damage to the muscles in his lower leg. Currently, Egypt’s medical staff are examining Salah’s condition with caution, but his participation in Friday’s match remains uncertain.
According to a report by BBC Sport, Salah was forced to leave the pitch during the 1:1 draw against Iran due to pain. Egypt’s team doctor, Mohamed Abou El-Nour, confirmed after further medical checks that Salah had suffered a strain in his calf muscles.
This situation has been officially announced by the Egyptian Football Association, and the player has already begun the recovery process. Egypt’s head coach, Hossam Hassan, is striving to approach the situation with a positive mindset.
He emphasized that he spoke personally with Salah and believes the player’s injury is not as serious as it may seem. According to the coach, Salah said he feels fine and that it is not a major issue.
Egypt finished second in their group and advanced to the next stage. Mohamed Salah played a vital role in this achievement, having scored one goal and provided two assists throughout the tournament.
Fans and the coaching staff are hoping for Salah’s return to the lineup in the match against Australia on Friday, July 3. However, the situation is concerning given that Muhammad Salah recently suffered from the exact same injury not long ago.
At the end of April, he missed three weeks of action due to a problem related to his calf muscles. Shortly after, he recovered quickly and was eager to play in Liverpool’s final matches of the season.
Egyptian fans are hoping for a similar swift recovery this time. According to statistics, Mohamed Salah has appeared in 119 matches for the national team, scoring 68 goals.
His presence on the field not only enhances the team’s attacking capabilities but also puts psychological pressure on opposing defenders. For Egypt to overcome a strong defensive side like Australia, Salah’s creativity and experience are absolutely essential.
So far, the Egyptian Football Federation has not provided a definite timeline for the player’s return. If Salah fails to recover in time for Friday’s match, it would be considered one of the biggest losses for the team in this tournament.
