Xavier Tebas: The Club World Cup poses a threat to the future of football
Despite the Club World Cup starting in a renewed format, which has generated significant interest in the football world, La Liga president Javier Tebas has expressed his strong opposition to the competition. According to Tebas, this tournament seriously impacts not only national leagues but the entire European football system.

In his interview, he firmly demanded FIFA to put an end to any attempts to improve the tournament, even calling for its complete cancellation. “There is no need for another competition that brings money to clubs and players. This model blocks funds in the audiovisual rights sector. We must maintain the existing system and hold the tournament as before, on a single weekend. There are no free dates,” said Tebas.

The La Liga president, who mentioned he personally observed the competition matches, assessed Chelsea's game against Los Angeles as a preseason friendly: “During the 25 minutes I watched, I did not sense any seriousness.”

It is worth noting that the new format of the Club World Cup features the strongest teams in the world, and several prominent publications have announced their predicted line-ups for the tournament's most exciting matches. However, for the leaders of European football, this competition is becoming a serious problem.

Fan question: Is the Club World Cup really necessary, or is it harming football traditions?
