The capital's "Dinamo" team goalkeeper Igor Leshchuk shared his thoughts on Matvey Safonov's victory in the UEFA Champions League as the goalkeeper of Russia's "PSG" club. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to Leshchuk, he is genuinely happy for Matvey. Over the past year, Safonov has won almost all major trophies.
Now he hopes to play in more matches as the main goalkeeper and achieve new successes. Last summer, "PSG" purchased Safonov from the "Krasnodar" club for 20 million euros. Currently, the 26-year-old Russian player has played in 17 matches for the Parisians across all competitions, and in seven of those matches, he has not conceded a goal.
Safonov's contract with "PSG" is valid until the end of the 2028/29 season. At the same time, his role as the main goalkeeper brings significant benefits to the club. Matvey is helping to strengthen "PSG's" defense line with his experience and skills.
In the near future, even greater successes are anticipated in his career.
