The president of the Russian Football Union, Alexander Dyukov, commented on the "Pari NN" team's stay in the Premier League. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Although the Nizhny Novgorod team lost to "Sochi" in the playoff matches, they remained in the top division according to the decision of the executive committee of the Russian Football Union. The reason for this is that the "Khimki" team was unable to obtain the necessary license.
According to Dyukov, it was difficult to find a good solution in this situation. The head of the Russian Football Union emphasized that choosing any 16th team does not align with sports principles.
If sports principles were followed, the number of participants in the Premier League would have to be reduced to 15, but this would be a poor solution for the league. The league leadership preferred to maintain 16 teams.
Thus, the "Pari NN" team managed to stay in the Premier League, as they secured the best position among the teams that were relegated to the lower division. This decision was made taking into account the interests of the players and fans.
As a result, the league composition remains unchanged, continuing in its previous form.
