Moscow "Dynamo" team and Russia national team head coach Valery Karpin revealed what condition was necessary for him to stay at "Rostov". This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The specialist left the club after the winter break, before the start of the 2024/2025 season. According to him, the main reason was fatigue arising from frequent travels and having to perform multiple tasks at the same time.
According to Karpin, there was an agreement with the president of "Rostov": if everything remained the same at the club, the coaching staff would continue to work there. This agreement was made in December and January.
In June 2025, Karpin signed a three-year contract with "Dynamo". The Russian Football Federation allowed him to hold two positions simultaneously during the period when the Russia national team was suspended from international competitions.
After Karpin's departure, Jonatan Alba was appointed as the coach of the "Rostov" team, and he led the team to the superfinal of the Russian Cup. In the superfinal, "Rostov" lost to CSKA in a penalty shootout.
