Former Spain national team goalkeeper Pepe Reina named the best goalkeepers of his generation. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The 42-year-old player announced that he will end his career at the end of the 2024/2025 season. Reina stated that he had very strong partners during his career.
He particularly highlighted Valdes and Casillas, as they stood out among other goalkeepers and made significant contributions to their clubs and the Spanish national team. Reina also emphasized that there are very good goalkeepers not only in Spain but also in other countries. He cited players like Buffon, Cech, and Van der Sar as examples.
He mentioned that he has seen many good goalkeepers throughout his career. Reina's last club was Como in Italy.
With the Spanish national team, he played a total of 38 matches, conceding 20 goals. In his opinion, the art of goalkeeping is always evolving, and it will always be difficult to choose the best among different generations.
