Aleksandr Medvedev, chairman of the board of the Zenit football club in St. Petersburg, expressed his thoughts on the Media League. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He spoke about the possibility of returning to the Media League and emphasized why it should not be the case if they return to their initial goals, namely the media principles. These words were conveyed by the Sport-Express publication. It is worth noting that last season, the Zenit team from St. Petersburg secured second place in the Russian Premier League standings.
Under the leadership of coach Sergey Semak, they fought for victory, but the "Krasnodar" team triumphed over them. The "Krasnodar" team, led by Murad Musayev, collected one point more than Zenit and became the leader.
The third place was taken by the CSKA team from Moscow. These results once again confirmed the fierce competition among the strongest teams in the Russian Premier League.
The Zenit team stated that they will continue to strive for high positions in the upcoming seasons.
