In the 45th minute, however, the Canadian team was reduced to ten men due to a second yellow card given to Jacob Shaffelburg. In the 69th minute, Rubiyo Rubin equalized with a header into the corner of the net.
After the regular time ended, the Guatemalans prevailed in the penalty shootout 6:5. Guatemala reached the tournament semi-finals for the first time since 1996. They will play against the winner of the match between the USA and Costa Rica in the semi-finals.
In the other semi-final, Mexico and Honduras will take the field.
