Former Sankt-Petersburg "Zenit" player Aleksey Strepeto expressed his thoughts on improving the performance of the club and its forward Aleksandr Sobolev. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to Strepeto, for Sobolev to play better and score more goals, "Zenit" needs to change its game structure and reshape the attacking line. This way, Sobolev will be able to receive the ball more often.
In his opinion, the game should not be complex and intricate, but rather simplified. For example, in previous seasons, the playing style of Venhel and Klaudinho was like this. Aleksandr Sobolev moved from "Spartak" to "Zenit" during the summer transfer window of 2024.
In the first half of the current season, he has only scored twice, both in the Russian Cup. Last season, the 28-year-old player scored a total of four goals in 24 matches in the Russian Premier League.
Therefore, the team needs to reconsider the game tactics and attacking line for Sobolev. This, in turn, will help increase the player's efficiency and contribute to improving the results of the "Zenit" team.
