Real and Juventus played a match as part of the World Club Championship. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The game took place on July 1 in Miami during the playoff stage. Real Madrid defeated Juventus 1:0.
The only goal was scored by Gonzalo Garcia in the 54th minute. Players such as Ter-Stegen, Rüdiger, Tchouameni, Hoisen, Alexander-Arnold, and Valverde took the field for Real.
On the Juventus side, players like Di Gregorio, Kalulu, Rugani, Kostiq, Yildiz, and Kolo-Muani played. The contest between the teams was very intense. After Juventus lost to Manchester City 2:5 in the previous match, they faced Real in the second game in succession.
Real's head coach Xabi Alonso repeatedly fielded stars like Vinicius, the semi-injured Bellingham, Valverde, and Mbappe from the bench. In the early part of the game, Real organized more positional attacks, trying to keep the opponent under pressure, but these tactics did not intimidate Juventus.
Juventus, on the other hand, was dangerous with quick counterattacks. In the first attack, Kolo-Muani faced goalkeeper Courtois one-on-one and tried to chip the ball over him, but the ball went over the goal.
Later, Yildiz quickly arrived from the wing and shot towards the center, but the ball flew just over the crossbar. The Real team created a clear opportunity only once in a slow-paced manner. After a cross from the right wing, Bellingham positioned himself at the corner of the penalty area and struck powerfully, but goalkeeper Di Gregorio stopped the shot.
In the second half, Real intensified their efforts and soon began to attack. Valverde tested the goalkeeper with a long-range shot.
However, the goalkeeper was alert. Meanwhile, in the third attack, Trent delivered a soft pass from the right wing, and Garcia, unmarked by defenders, accurately headed the ball, putting Real ahead. To defeat Juventus, Real went back to Valverde.
He took a distinctive shot after a long attack from a set piece, but Di Gregorio saved the goal again. In the final minutes of the game, Real continued their attacks, but Mbappe and Vinicius failed to capitalize on their chances.
Nevertheless, one goal was enough for Real. Thus, Real defeated Juventus and advanced to the quarter-finals of the World Club Championship.
