Vladimir Ponomaryov, a former player of the Moscow CSKA team, commented on the decision of the team's management not to continue cooperation with Croatian midfielder Kristian Bistrovich. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, Bistrovich is not capable of being on the field for the entire duration of the game, meaning he cannot play consistently throughout both halves. Therefore, CSKA will not suffer significant losses with his departure, says Ponomaryov.
In the 2024/2025 season, the Croatian midfielder participated in 31 matches for the team and managed to score twice. Last season, CSKA secured third place in the Russian Premier League table and won the Russian Cup.
For this reason, the team aims to enter the new season with new plans and has deemed it necessary to renew the squad. In Ponomaryov's opinion, Bistrovich's inability to fully fulfill his role may lead to positive changes for the team with his departure.
The CSKA management has made this decision from the perspective of the team's future and development. The team's fans want to see a stronger and more competitive team in the new season.
Additionally, by strengthening the squad with new players, CSKA aims to achieve high results. Therefore, Bistrovich's departure is considered to open new opportunities for the team.
