The head coach of Madrid's "Real" team, Xabi Alonso, advised not to underestimate football from other continents. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He emphasized that the level of competition in world football is increasing, which is beneficial for the sport as a whole. "Real" has reached the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup and will play against Dortmund's "Borussia" in this stage.
The winner will face "PSG" or "Bayern" in the semi-finals. According to Alonso, in Europe, only the Champions League is considered important, but this is a misconception.
The Club World Cup showcases the overall level of football as a competition among representatives of different confederations. If "Real" reaches the final, they may meet Brazil's "Fluminense," who will play against "Chelsea" in the semi-finals.
For this reason, Alonso specifically highlighted the need not to underestimate football teams from other continents. This indicates the global development of football and the strengthening of competition between different regions.
