Homukha: There are problems during Chelestini's time at CSKA

Former CSKA player Dmitriy Homukha shared his thoughts on the participation of the "army men" in the Bratsk Cup in an exclusive interview with the website "Evro-Futbol.Ru" and also discussed his reflections on transfers. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

According to him, the preparation period is currently ongoing, and the main test will be the Super Cup match. Homukha stated that the new head coach Chelestini is changing the team's playing system.

Now there is more emphasis on attack, which is leading to problems in defense. Opponents are creating many opportunities, and it will be interesting to see how all this works in the championship.

Homukha also commented on the arrival of young midfielder Mateo Alves to CSKA. He mentioned that he does not have specific information about the player's level, emphasizing that world champions can emerge from players aged 20.

At this age, there is a good opportunity to show oneself. Although Mateo has received offers from European clubs, Homukha explained his choice of CSKA by financial factors, as the team is not participating in European Cups, which forces them to make additional payments to players.

While discussing players who have left CSKA – Pjanic, Bistrovich, Guarirapa, and Jemaletdinov – Homukha emphasized that the team's internal reserves can fill their places. However, strengthening is necessary for big goals.

In particular, he noted that it would be difficult to expect high results from the team if a central striker who can compete for the championship is not found. Overall, Homukha highlighted the selection of players and strengthening the team as the main task for the future success of CSKA.
