A station of the Kazan metro will be named after the local "Rubin" football club during the new football season. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
The club's press service announced this. The change will be in effect during the 2025/2026 season.
Specifically, the "Aviastroitel" station will be called "Rubin Aviastroitel." Additionally, the "Rubin" club secured seventh place in the Russian Premier League last season.
Under the leadership of head coach Rashid Rahimov, the team successfully defended against relegation to a lower division until the end of the season. The decision to name the station was made in honor of the 20th anniversary of the Kazan metro.
This event aims to further develop football and community life. Cooperation between the club and the metro is expected to continue in the future.
This initiative serves to strengthen the unity of the team and the city's residents.
