Microsoft Corporation announced that it will abandon the blue "screen of death" (BSoD) that appears when a device fails in the Windows 11 operating system, as reported by kun.uz.
Based on the new design, users will now see a green background screen when a problem occurs. This interface matches the overall look of Windows 11 and ensures a quick return to the system.
The green screen will not feature emojis or QR codes — only the message "Your device has encountered a problem and needs to restart" and a percentage will be displayed.
Microsoft also tested a black background version, but it was discarded because it resembled the Windows update center.
The blue "screen of death" first appeared in 1990 with the Windows 3.0 version.
