"NVIDIA" RTX 5090 graphics card is running out of power

Rumors about the GeForce RTX 5090, considered NVIDIA's newest and most powerful graphics processor, are now focusing not on its performance, but on serious technical flaws. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Cases of the 16-pin 12V-2x6 power connector melting are increasing in these video cards, which have been on the market for a short time. This is being reported by the Ixbt.com website.
The latest serious failure occurred not in an ordinary user's home, but at the editorial office of the reputable Club386 publication. According to Ixbt.com, during the testing process, the power connector of a GeForce RTX 5090 Founders Edition video card completely failed as a result of overheating.
Most unfortunately, this time not only the video card and cable were damaged, but the power supply unit itself was also affected. Detailing the incident at the editorial office, Club386 journalists emphasize that they made no mistakes when assembling the system.
The video card was connected directly to a Be Quiet Dark Power 13 power supply with a capacity of one thousand watts via a standard 12V-2x6 cable. Although no additional adapters or extensions were used, the connector melted under high load and rendered the corresponding port on the power supply unusable.
Following this incident, NVIDIA replaced the video card under warranty. However, representatives of the publication state that the existence of such a fundamental problem in a device of this price and high technology is unacceptable.
In their opinion, the structure of the new 16-pin standard still does not fully meet safety requirements. Is this problem turning out to be systemic?
This is not the first case related to the GeForce RTX 5090. Previously, well-known tech blogger Daniel Owen also reported encountering the same problem.
In his case, a special adapter that converts four 8-pin connectors into one 12V-2x6 was used. Club386 and other experts are calling on NVIDIA to openly acknowledge the flaws in this connector and work on a safer solution.
At a time when demand for high-performance computer components is growing in the Uzbekistan market, such reports should serve as a warning for local gamers and professional editors. When installing devices that require very high power, such as the GeForce RTX 5090, it is recommended to pay special attention to ensure the cable is firmly seated to the end and is not sharply bent.
So far, NVIDIA has not issued an official statement regarding these issues, but trust in the 12V-2x6 standard continues to decline among users. If the company does not find and eliminate the root of the problem soon, it could seriously damage the sales of flagship video cards and the brand's reputation.
Therefore, users should study all risks before purchasing these devices and use the safest possible connection methods.
