In Uzbekistan, fines for citizens and officials who disturb nighttime tranquility are expected to be significantly increased. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Legislative Chamber approved the draft law on "Strengthening Responsibility for Disturbing Night Peace" in the first reading. According to this document, special "quiet hours" will be introduced for weekends and weekdays in the near future.
On weekends, that is, on Saturdays and Sundays, nighttime tranquility will be maintained from 22:00 to 09:00, and on weekdays from 23:00 to 06:00. During this time, playing loud music, repairing houses or buildings, as well as performing other noisy activities will be prohibited.
Once the law comes into effect, financial penalties will be imposed on individuals who do not comply with these rules. According to the draft, citizens will be fined 5 times the basic calculation amount, which currently amounts to approximately 2 million soums.
For officials, the fine can reach 15 times the basic calculation amount, exceeding 6 million soums. According to current legislation, the fine for disturbing nighttime peace is approximately 113 thousand soums, and once the new law comes into effect, this amount will increase nearly 18 times.
Experts believe that these changes will serve to enhance respect for citizens' personal lives, protect the right to rest, and strengthen public order. The law is currently under consideration for further readings.
Once adopted, disturbing nighttime peace will be regarded not only as a moral issue but also as a serious legal violation (source: zamin.uz)
