The use of renewable energy sources in Uzbekistan is continuously expanding. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In particular, electricity generation using solar panels not only serves to protect the environment but has also become a source of income for the population. According to the Ministry of Energy, from January to June 2025, 28,538 individuals supplied a total of 63 billion 498 million soums worth of solar energy to the state electricity grid.
These payments were made as subsidies under the "Sunny Household" program. The highest amount of subsidies was allocated in the Khorezm region, where 19.1 billion soums were allocated.
Following this, the Republic of Karakalpakstan (9.7 billion soums) and Tashkent city (4.9 billion soums) ranked next. In other regions, these figures are relatively lower.
Residents can apply for the subsidy funds directly to their bank cards through the "Cashback and Benefits" section of the "Tax" mobile application for the "Sunny Household" program. Additionally, starting from April 1, 2023, a subsidy of 1,000 soums will be paid for each kilowatt-hour of energy transmitted to the state grid through solar panels installed at home.
These measures aim to encourage the population to make extensive use of "green" energy. Source: Ministry of Energy.
