
Environmental monitoring data reports that air quality is deteriorating in Tashkent. In some areas of the city, the air quality index (AQI) has exceeded 250, which indicates a very poor level.
Air quality across the city:
- In the city center and Western Tashkent, the AQI is around 150-180 – this is a harmful level.
- In the northern part of the city and some peripheral areas, the AQI is 200-250 – a very poor level.
- In the Sabzavot and Nazarbek areas, the AQI is 250+ – this is considered the highest level of hazardous air quality.
How does this state of the air affect?
- It is recommended not to spend much time outdoors in areas with poor air quality.
- People with respiratory diseases and children should wear masks.
- Air pollution can be particularly dangerous for people with heart diseases and allergies.
