The complete covering, or kiswah, belonging to the door of the sacred Kaaba from Saudi Arabia has been brought to our country. This unique artifact is planned to be exhibited as a special display in the Museum of Islamic Civilization.
As is known, the Kaaba is covered with a new kiswah every year, and it is accepted by Muslims as a sacred and spiritual value. Therefore, even a small piece of it holds great significance throughout the Muslim world.
In February of this year, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received a delegation led by Tawfiq bin Fawzan al-Rabiah, the Minister of Hajj and Umrah Affairs of Saudi Arabia. During this meeting, the head of state was presented with a piece of the sacred Kaaba’s kiswah dedicated to the people of our country by the King of Saudi Arabia, Salman Al Saud.
Over time, the entire door covering, the most precious covering of the Kaaba, was delivered to Uzbekistan. Experts evaluate this event as an important religious and cultural occurrence in the history of our country.
Because this artifact is not only a symbol of sanctity for Muslims but also another confirmation of Uzbekistan’s place and significance in Islamic civilization. According to the Museum of Islamic Civilization, this covering will be widely exhibited in the museum and will be open to thousands of visitors and researchers.
Through this, the history of the Muslim world, the importance of the sacred Kaaba, and the symbolic value of cooperation with Saudi Arabia will be further highlighted. It should be emphasized that this gift signifies the strengthening of religious and cultural ties between the two countries.
