Starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, various reports are circulating on social networks about a possible increase in contract prices at state higher education institutions in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
However, Nazokat Abduqunduzova, a representative of the Cabinet of Ministers, announced that no official decision has been made to increase contract prices this year and that prices will remain unchanged for now. Additionally, there have been reports that the contract price at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) will increase by 15% starting from the 2025/2026 academic year.
As Abduqunduzova emphasized, since UWED is a financially independent higher education institution, it sets its contract prices by its own independent decision. There are more than 40 such financially independent higher education institutions in Uzbekistan.
Currently, applicants are expected to be given the opportunity to choose new fields of study in the near future. Furthermore, changes in the amount of the "super-contract" may also occur.
All of these actions are carried out within the authority of higher education institutions. Therefore, applicants and their families need to closely follow updates regarding contract prices and financial conditions.
