In the regions of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm, the government will allocate subsidies for digging artesian wells and installing water extraction equipment for needy families. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This news will take effect from July 1, 2025, and families registered on the social list will be eligible to receive the subsidy. The state will cover 90 percent of the total expenses, but this amount should not exceed 30 times the base calculation amount.
Currently, 30 times the base calculation amount is approximately 10 million 200 thousand soums. Under the new system, instead of giving cash to citizens, funds will be allocated for the necessary work to solve the problem.
Through this, it is planned to effectively meet the demand for clean drinking water. Entrepreneurs carrying out the work must be included only in a special registry.
They will perform well digging, pump and filter installation works. The registry is closely linked with the “Unified Social Protection System.”
There are several conditions for receiving the subsidy. All work must be carried out by an approved contractor, and a tripartite certificate must be drawn up in the community.
This document confirms that the well has been dug and the equipment installed, and it is signed by the community leader, a representative of the Ministry of Construction and Communal Services, and the subsidy recipient. Also, the water quality must be assessed as suitable for drinking by the relevant authority.
Citizens must register with the “Unified Social Protection System” through “Inson” centers or social workers in the community. After the application is approved, the entrepreneur on the registry must start the work within the specified period.
In some areas, artesian waters are under such pressure that they can rise to the surface on their own without a pump, creating a fountain. In such cases, equipment installation may not be required.
This subsidy program is an important measure aimed at improving water supply and ensuring the population has access to healthy drinking water. Source: upl.uz
