Entrepreneurial potential in Uzbekistan is steadily developing. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to data from the National Statistics Committee for January-July 2025, a total of 47,796 new small business entities were registered in the country during this period. This figure indicates a growing interest in the small business sector.
The largest share of newly established entrepreneurial entities falls within the trade sector. In this sector, 17,587 new businesses were opened, accounting for approximately 37 percent of the total figure.
It is evident that the trade sector is the most popular and profitable direction among entrepreneurs. In the industrial sector, 6,189 businesses were established, and in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, 6,183 businesses were created.
The figures in these two sectors are almost equal, once again confirming the importance of agriculture in the country's economy. Additionally, 4,234 new entrepreneurial entities were established in the accommodation and food service sector, 2,680 in construction, 1,763 in information and communication, 1,512 in transportation and storage, and 989 in healthcare and social services.
The remaining 6,659 businesses belong to various other sectors. Analyses show that entrepreneurs prefer sectors related to consumer goods that can quickly respond to market demands.
This trend is expected to continue in the coming months. Source: National Statistics Committee, 2025.
