New problems are emerging in the field of online security in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Cybersecurity Center recently drew attention to a widespread fraud case among citizens. It has been revealed that some individuals are deceiving people through bots on Telegram that offer low-interest loans.
These bots initially present attractive offers, convincing people to take cheap loans. As a result, users are forced to provide personal information, including passport numbers, bank card details, and documents related to loan agreements.
Fraudsters obtain the most important and confidential information this way. The fraud scheme continues thereafter.
Victims receive fake messages stating "your loan has been approved." Then they are asked to transfer money to a special account under the pretext of a "commission."
In reality, this is not a legal payment but a method fraudsters use to extort money by exploiting people's trust. Experts emphasize that such documents have no legal force.
They are not connected to any official bank or licensed financial institution. Therefore, the public is advised not to trust such "easy loan" offers.
Experts recommend that citizens use services only through official financial organizations. If a loan or financial service is offered in a way that seems too easy and cheap, it is a major warning sign.
Also, personal information should never be given to unreliable platforms. The Cybersecurity Center advises the public to be cautious and reminds that ordinary people are the main victims of such fraud schemes.
