According to the Central Bank's "Labor Market Review," in recent quarters, the growth of real wages in Uzbekistan has been lower compared to Central Asian and Caucasus countries. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In January-March 2025, real wages in Central Asian countries increased by an average of 9.8%, and together with the Caucasus countries, this figure reached 9.1%. If this difference persists over the long term, the purchasing power of participants in Uzbekistan's labor market may decline, and demand may weaken.
In the second quarter of 2025, the minimum wage in Uzbekistan amounted to 91 US dollars. For comparison, this figure is 243 in Belarus, 235 in Azerbaijan, and 222 dollars in Mongolia.
Additionally, in Uzbekistan, the ratio of the annual minimum wage to the gross domestic product per capita was 35%. This figure indicates the level of income distribution equality.
In some countries in the region, such as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Georgia, this indicator is lower, while in other countries it is formed at a similar level. Source: Uz24.
