President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the city of Samarkand on August 25. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to tradition, he first visited the tomb of Imam Bukhari. The Quran was recited here, and prayers were offered.
The head of state familiarized himself with the construction works at the complex. The total area of the pilgrimage site has been expanded to 44 hectares.
In this area, a revered mausoleum, a mosque for 10,000 people, and an administrative building have been completed. At the four corners of the complex, 75-meter-high minarets have been erected.
President Mirziyoyev emphasized that this complex should not only be a pilgrimage site but also a center for knowledge, education, and inspiration. It was noted that Imam Bukhari’s scientific research, knowledge, and perfection should especially serve as a good example for young people.
For this purpose, an innovative museum is being established in the new complex. This museum will extensively cover Imam Bukhari’s life and scientific heritage, as well as his contribution to the development of Islamic knowledge.
The museum will also contain information about the history of 25 prophets mentioned in the Holy Quran, the genealogy of Muhammad (peace be upon him), his life in Mecca and Medina, and the compilation and writing of hadiths. Construction of a hotel and other service buildings around the pilgrimage site is in its final stage.
The head of state gave instructions to ensure high-quality construction work, improve conveniences for people, and expand green areas around the complex. It was emphasized that the implementation of this project holds not only religious but also cultural and educational significance.
