Emergency at the gas well in Moynaq resolved
An emergency that occurred at a new gas well belonging to the "Uzbekneftgaz" Joint Stock Company located in the Mo‘ynoq district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan was successfully resolved. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
On July 26, 2023, during drilling at exploration well No. 1 at a depth of 4707 meters, a sudden gas release was observed. This accident began with a sharp blow, leading to an emergency situation.
As a prompt response to the situation, a special headquarters was established. Representatives from various ministries and agencies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, militarized units, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and local authorities were involved in this headquarters.
The members of the headquarters, working in coordination, took all necessary measures to eliminate the accident and bring the well to a safe condition. These complex operations were carried out with the assistance of specialists with advanced international experience, local experts, and modern technical equipment.
As a result, the gas blowout was completely stopped and the well was successfully controlled. No catastrophic consequences occurred during the process.
Two hundred workers who actively participated in eliminating the accident were awarded certificates of appreciation and commemorative gifts. This event once again confirmed the ability of Uzbekistan's oil and gas industry to respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations.
