School inspector-psychologists in Uzbekistan have been transferred to the internal affairs system. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was reported by the Nova24.uz website. This change is being implemented with the aim of preventing juvenile delinquency and organizing effective preventive work against offenses committed by adolescents.
According to Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Bekmurod Abduallaev, the main task of inspector-psychologists is not to monitor students' attendance in classes, but to prevent their involvement in criminal activities. Previously, these inspectors operated within the National Guard system, but starting from March 2025, they have been transferred to the Ministry of Internal Affairs system.
The reason for this is the limited capabilities of the National Guard in working with psychologists. By transferring to the internal affairs system, psychologists will be able to closely cooperate with neighborhood and territorial inspectors and effectively eliminate psychological risks.
Additionally, they will provide important assistance in identifying adolescents involved in drug distribution. In the summer vacation of 2023, 20-day training sessions were organized for all inspectors.
During this training, experience was exchanged with psychologists and specialists from the social protection agency, and certificates were issued. It is planned to increase the number of inspectors to 2,000 by the 2025/2026 academic year.
One inspector will be assigned to every five schools, and they will work closely with school administration, psychologists, and staff responsible for spiritual and moral affairs. Source: Nova24.uz.
