Despite the complex global situation, our economy maintains an annual growth rate of over 6 percent. This indicates that our people are firmly continuing on their path.
The population of our country is increasing by an average of 700-800 thousand per year. Every year, 500-600 thousand young people enter the labor market.
Therefore, systematically educating them well, providing vocational training, and ensuring employment require organized efforts. For this purpose, clear programs have been developed to create guaranteed investments and infrastructure.
According to the President, entrepreneurship in New Uzbekistan has become the main factor driving economic development. This year, nearly 9,000 new enterprises and service complexes are being established with investments amounting to 35 billion dollars.
On the eve of Independence Day, 79 large-scale projects worth 4 billion dollars were launched. The number of small and medium-sized enterprises has doubled.
Today, more than 10 million citizens work and earn income in this sector. Additionally, at the beginning of the year, employment for 5.5 million people was planned, and within eight months, a plan for 5 million was fulfilled.
Most importantly, trusting the reforms, over 700 thousand of our citizens working abroad returned to their homeland this year. The head of state noted that supporting honest entrepreneurs and expanding opportunities for them is one of the main goals.
