Since the beginning of this year, more than five million people have gained employment in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced this on August 29 during the celebration event dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the country's independence held at the "New Uzbekistan" park in Tashkent. According to the President, thousands of modern enterprises are being established in the country, and social and economic infrastructure facilities are continuously developing.
Throughout this year, the total investment volume reached 35 billion dollars, with plans to launch nearly 9,000 new enterprises and service complexes. On the eve of Independence Day, 79 large-scale projects worth 4 billion dollars began operations, which contributed to further strengthening the economy.
Additionally, the number of small and medium-sized business entities has doubled. Currently, over 10 million people are employed and earning income in this sector, which plays a significant role in ensuring social welfare.
Although the initial plan was to employ 5.5 million people by the beginning of the year, the five-million target was already achieved within eight months. This indicates the expansion of the labor market and economic opportunities.
Moreover, in 2025, more than 700,000 compatriots working abroad have voluntarily returned to Uzbekistan, contributing to the country's development with their skills and experience. This process reflects the increase in employment levels and the growth of job opportunities.
Therefore, in 2025, the effectiveness of state policy in ensuring employment, economic development, and social stability in Uzbekistan has been clearly demonstrated (source: zamin.uz).
