The second season of the “Initiative Budget” process, conducted with the participation of citizens in Uzbekistan, has concluded for 2025. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
On August 31, the voting phase was fully completed, with millions of citizens across the country making their choices. According to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, this year’s processes were very active.
A total of more than 11 million votes were cast nationwide. This once again demonstrated that the public is not indifferent to the allocation of state funds.
The second season of the “Initiative Budget” began with project registration from July 15 to August 3. In the next phase, from August 4 to August 18, projects were shortlisted.
From August 19 to August 21, promotional activities were carried out. The final phase – the voting process – lasted from August 22 to August 31.
According to the results, 2,332 projects with a total value of 3.2 trillion soums were declared winners. These projects received the most votes from the population and will be financed from state funds.
On September 1, the list of winning projects was officially announced on the “Open Budget” portal. Now citizens will have the opportunity to clearly see which of the initiatives they supported with their votes will be implemented.
Experts believe that these processes are important for solving local problems by taking into account the opinions and suggestions of the population. Through direct participation of citizens, the public gains the ability to monitor how the state budget is being spent.
Thus, the “Initiative Budget” is becoming popular not only as a means to develop local infrastructure but also as a new platform expanding citizens’ participation in state governance (source: zamin.uz).
