
At the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit held in Tianjin, Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev put forward important proposals on regional cooperation and strategic directions. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the head of state, considering the current trends in the global economy, expanding trade and economic partnership, creating reliable production and logistics chains, as well as attracting investments and establishing new mechanisms are priority tasks. Mirziyoyev proposed establishing a regional center for strategic materials to introduce advanced technologies in mineral extraction and processing.
In addition, to develop "green" energy, it is planned to create an energy consortium within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Establishing a network of venture companies and funds to support startups and innovative projects was also highlighted as an important initiative.
At the same time, a proposal was made to open a special electronic portal to promote business communications and investments. The president emphasized the necessity of fully utilizing transport and transit potential.
It was noted that creating a unified transport space within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization territory, harmonizing it with the "One Belt – One Road" initiative, and establishing new multimodal networks, digital platforms, and environmentally friendly corridors are important. Furthermore, the need to create a regional platform for introducing artificial intelligence technologies to adapt to climate change, reduce harmful air emissions, and anticipate ecological threats was emphasized.
A number of proposals were also made in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. It is planned to hold folk art festivals, launch an online campus of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization University, and organize olympiads and competitions in innovative fields for students and young specialists.
Moreover, strengthening ties among the peoples of the countries through launching a tourism route and a medical tourism alliance was targeted. In this way, Shavkat Mirziyoyev presented clear and practical initiatives aimed at further developing economic cooperation, transport and logistics, green transformation, and cultural exchanges at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit.
