Mirziyoyev presented new initiatives at the SCO summit
On September 1, at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit held in the city of Tianjin, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, spoke and presented important initiatives planned to be implemented within the organization. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to the head of state, the effective functioning of the SCO and enhancing its reputation on the global stage are of great importance in the modern era. The main initiatives proposed by the President include: increasing the efficiency of SCO institutions and expanding the organization through Global South countries, adopting a declaration on nuclear security, restoring the activities of the Council of Interior Ministers, developing a drug control program aimed at 2030, revitalizing the "SCO–Afghanistan" dialogue group, signing an agreement to facilitate trade processes, establishing a regional center for strategic materials, and creating the SCO Energy Consortium.

Additionally, the head of state proposed forming a network of venture companies and funds, creating a special electronic investment portal, developing transport-transit corridors, particularly strengthening the North–South and East–West directions, as well as establishing the "SCO Single Transport Space" and harmonizing it with the "One Space, One Road" initiative. Mirziyoyev emphasized the necessity of creating a regional platform based on artificial intelligence technologies to adapt to climate change, effectively manage decarbonization processes, and forecast environmental risks in advance.

Furthermore, a number of projects were proposed in the cultural and educational spheres. These include holding an international folk art festival within the SCO space, opening an online campus of the "SCO University," and organizing various competitions and Olympiads among youth and students.

It was also highlighted that the initiatives "Tourism Corridor" and "Medical Tourism Alliance" will create new opportunities in the organization's activities. At the end of the summit, an important decision was made: a Universal Center for combating security threats and risks will be established in Tashkent based on the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure.

This center will also include an Information Security Center. According to officials, these decisions will bring cooperation in the field of security and stability to a new level and further strengthen the SCO's position in global political processes.
