The use of unmanned aerial vehicles, or drones, has begun in internal affairs bodies to prevent offenses as well as to detect them quickly and effectively. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Rahimjon Nayimov, Deputy Head of the Crime Prevention Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, provided information about this. It is noted that initially, drones were introduced in the Bukhara region.
In 2024, based on the instruction given during the visit of the head of state to the Bukhara region, the regional administration purchased a total of 150 modern drones. Currently, 84 employees of law enforcement units in five regions are being equipped with drones.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs is considering purchasing more drones in the near future. It is planned that by the end of 2026, all district and city departments will be fully equipped with unmanned aerial vehicles.
Drones are mainly used in areas with a severe criminogenic situation to detect and prevent minor hooliganism, environmental violations, and drug-related offenses. According to Rahimjon Nayimov, aerial monitoring is conducted via drones, and internal affairs officers take prompt measures based on the detected cases.
Unmanned aerial vehicles are showing effective results in detecting offenses and preventing them. Additionally, senior prevention inspectors regularly participate in training sessions on drone operation and effective piloting.
In April 2024, the official introduction of drone use in the activities of internal affairs bodies was announced. These innovations serve to make control and preventive work within the internal affairs system more effective.
