A new law has been adopted in Uzbekistan to enhance transport safety and protect the lives of passengers. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to this document approved at the next plenary session of the Senate, strict liability will be introduced for officials who violate passenger transportation rules in the railway and metro systems. From now on, if such violations are detected, officials will be required to pay fines up to ten times the established base calculation amount.
In addition, the labor and rest regulations of drivers operating on international and intercity routes will also be under scrutiny. In such cases, drivers will be fined up to seven times the base calculation amount.
According to experts, the introduction of a strict liability mechanism in the transport sector will help strengthen order and discipline and ensure passenger safety. At the same time, this measure will help increase public trust in public transport.
As senators emphasized, once the law comes into force, the responsibility of carriers and drivers will increase further. This is an important step that will serve to improve the quality and safety of transport services in the country.
