International travel opportunities for citizens of Uzbekistan are expanding year by year. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the global passport index presented by Henley & Partners at the end of 2025, the Uzbekistan passport ranked 72nd. This ranking is based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), where the main criterion is the number of countries citizens can enter visa-free.
Currently, Uzbeks have the opportunity to travel visa-free to 62 countries. This indicator is the result of the country's diplomatic relations on the international stage and openness in foreign policy.
Citizens of Uzbekistan can travel visa-free to countries such as Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Armenia. Among Central Asian countries, Kazakhstan holds the 71st position, having visa-free access to 63 countries.
Kyrgyzstan is ranked 71st, Tajikistan 78th, and Turkmenistan 84th. The strongest passport in the global ranking belongs to Singapore, whose citizens have visa-free access to 193 countries.
Japan and South Korea, ranked second, have visa-free access to 190 countries. Germany and Italy are also among the top five.
Kazakhstan holds a high position not only in Central Asia but also compared to countries in the Caucasus and other parts of Asia. Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Mongolia are positioned lower than Kazakhstan.
This situation reflects geopolitical changes in the region and increased activity in foreign relations. At the bottom of the list are countries affected by war and isolated in international relations, such as Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria.
The Afghan passport is considered the weakest in the world, with its citizens able to travel visa-free to only 27 countries (source: henleyglobal.com).
