There are proposals to relocate the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute outside the city center. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to this proposal, the institute building will be moved to the territory of the “Tashkent Pharma Park” innovative pharmaceutical park in the Tashkent region. This project is being promoted by the Tashkent city administration and the Ministry of Health.
They plan to build a modern 5-star hotel on the main land area in the city center. Additionally, a 1000-space parking lot is also planned in this area.
The Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute was established in 1937, and its main building is located near the “Oybek” metro station. The “Tashkent Pharma Park” pharmaceutical cluster and the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency operate in Zangiota district, next to the infectious diseases hospital.
This cluster and agency play an important role in the development of scientific and modern technologies in the pharmaceutical field. If the proposal is implemented, it will create opportunities for effective use of old buildings in the city center and enhance tourism potential.
At the same time, favorable conditions will be created for the development of the pharmaceutical sector outside the city. This initiative has been included in the draft presidential decree and published on the official website of the Strategic Reforms Agency (zamin.uz).
