Penalty points system reduced traffic violations by 41%
Since the introduction of the penalty points system in Uzbekistan, traffic violations by drivers have decreased by 41%. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

The information was provided by the Traffic Safety Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The penalty points system came into effect on June 1, 2024.

Within the first three months, nearly 69 thousand drivers received penalty points. Of these, 63.9 thousand had between 0.5 and 1 point, 4,976 had up to two points, and 189 received three points.

Additionally, four points were assigned to 14 drivers, and five points to 4 drivers. At the same time, 9.3 million drivers did not receive any penalty points at all.

This situation indicates an improvement in traffic discipline. While the number of recorded violations in the summer of 2024 was 285 thousand, this figure decreased by 167 thousand during the same period this year.

Traffic accidents also accounted for one-third, reaching 338 cases. This information was sourced from the one.uz website.
