Tourism will be developed around the Chortoq reservoir in Namangan
In Namangan region, a modern tourism complex, hotel, restaurants, as well as recreation and entertainment facilities are planned to be established around the famous Chortoq reservoir to develop tourism. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

This was announced at a meeting dedicated to the socio-economic development of Namangan region held on September 16 under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. It was emphasized at the meeting that within the framework of the Urban Development Project implemented in cooperation with the World Bank, Furqat Park will be reconstructed this year and its area will be nearly doubled.

Additionally, along the Chortoqsoy river, 11 kilometers of ecological eco-trails and special routes for pedestrians and cyclists will be established. As part of the tourism complex development program, seven kilometers of the banks of Chortoqsoy and the Katta Namangan canal will be concreted, and 30 hectares of land will be transformed into a useful and efficient area.

Here, large sanatorium-type service facilities will also be constructed, harmonizing perennial gardens and the natural environment. Thus, around the Chortoq reservoir, not only a tourism complex but also hotels, restaurants, and recreation and entertainment centers will be established.

This will significantly enhance the tourism potential of the region. Furthermore, a large tourism complex is planned to be built on 1200 hectares around Arashan Lake in Pop district.

This site will have the capacity to accommodate one million tourists annually and will serve to increase investments in the region's tourism sector and strengthen its international reputation. To train qualified personnel for major projects in the tourism sector, starting from the next academic year, a joint faculty will be established at Namangan State University in cooperation with Krems University of Austria.

This will provide young specialists with modern knowledge and practical experience. Source: zamin.uz, September 16, 2025.
