
On September 17, 2025, within the framework of the international forum "From Poverty to Prosperity" held in Namangan city, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, met with the President of the Islamic Development Bank, Muhammad bin Sulaiman Al-Jasser. During the meeting, the successful conduct of the forum was emphasized, and ITB expressed its readiness to support tasks aimed at reducing poverty in Uzbekistan. The dialogue highlighted the importance of expanding cooperation with the Bank Group to implement the country's reform strategy.
In recent years, the partnership with ITB has significantly developed, with the joint project portfolio exceeding 5 billion dollars. These projects cover the sectors of transport, infrastructure, housing construction, energy, healthcare, and education.
Moreover, over 40 percent of investments are directed to the private sector. President Mirziyoyev proposed an initiative to adopt a long-term strategic partnership program aimed at doubling the project portfolio and expanding the financing volume for infrastructure, social sector, and private sector projects.
The meeting focused on specific projects such as developing private business, establishing modern medical centers in regions, modernizing highways, restoring and concreting irrigation canals. This dialogue serves to further strengthen cooperation in the development of our country.
