According to the President's decree No. PQ-5020 dated March 5, 2021, additional assistance will be provided through local authorities to certain students living in difficult financial conditions. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to this decree, the basic contract payments for 40 first-year and 110 second-year and higher female students will be covered by the state. Contract payments are mainly paid to female students from low-income families registered in the unified social protection registry, orphaned girls or girls without parents, as well as needy women who have lost their spouses and are raising minor children alone.
However, the decree includes some restrictions. For example, contract payments for those studying for a second specialty and female students studying at foreign or private higher education institutions in Uzbekistan will not be covered by the state.
This initiative is implemented from the local budget and holds great importance as social assistance during the higher education process for women. Source: zamin.uz
